In 2010, a small but determined group of women decided to make a difference in the lives of local animals. Efforts started small by supplying food and vetting services. However, as the number of animals in need grew, we realized that more needed to be done. We agreed to file with State and Federal agencies to become a 501C3 non-profit rescue known as People Helping Paws to provide these loving animals with a forever home. From that point on we took in both cats and dogs from all over Missouri and the surrounding states. After 9 years of working together, it was decided that in order to better serve our animals in need, we needed to split into two separate organizations. Today we are known as People Helping Paws Dog Rescue (PHPDR). Throughout the past 10 years we have dedicated our personal vehicles to transport our rescues and pickup/deliver food to those supported by our organization. Because of this, we have had to turn down needed supplies due to our limited vehicle space which ultimately impacts what we stand for. Now, as we have hit challenging winter weather this has caused yet another bump in the road. Due to these reasons we have decided to raise money to purchase an all-wheel drive vehicle. This will allow us the needed room to transport our dogs to appointments and their homes as well as pickup/deliver larger quantities of food for those in need in any given weather. All donations are appreciated as it allows us to continue our work for the years to come. Please continue to share us with your family and friends as we aim to make an impact in the lives of those that need our help the most. Thank you for your love and support. Here’s to a new and better year ahead!
