LEAD YOUR TEAM THROUGH CHANGE
"Change is not really about structural changes that are made to organizations, but about the way people are guided and treated during the change process. During these unprecedented, turbulent times, your change management skills are being tested daily, maybe even hourly."
The ability to adapt oneself and lead others through change is a skill that will determine the level of success one can achieve. No longer is it business as usual or life as usual. There is no normal because what is normal is always changing.
Like anything in life the skills and tool to manage change do not come natural. They are learned and need honing . This is an opportunity to aquire tools to help manage the changes we all face and support the American Cancer Society at the same time.
MY PERSONAL STORY AND CANCER
On November 24, 1980, my grandmother passed away from lung cancer. November 24this my birthday.
As a young child, I remember my mother caring for my ailing “Abuela” by waking up before dawn to drive my grandmother to the hospital for chemotherapy treatments. I knew cancer could be fatal, but as a 10-year old I couldn’t comprehend that one day the disease would end her life. Her experience became my first encounter with cancer, and her illness marked my first encounter with death. Each birthday is a reminder of how she left this Earth. This year marks the 40thanniversary of my Abuela’s passing.
