Theater is an act of community. Recovery can’t happen alone. Good prevention is good education.
With every show Improbable Players performs, we string these 3 ideas together. For 35 years Improbable Players has delivered theatre-based addiction education to schools. All our actors are in recovery themselves. They perform it every day. But this work depends on schools to be open, just as theatre depends on an audience, and recovery depends on community. And so, our actors are doubly impacted by this crisis.
Today we’re asking you to support this community of actors in recovery directly. Had our season continued normally IP actors would have received $15,000 in wages to deliver programs to thousands of young people. We insist on continuing this creative work. It's our goal to raise that $15,000 to make up for lost wages. This funding will go to actors in recovery to engage them in creative theater making projects. Anything raised over our goal will support our mission.
With your help we will keep performing recovery. Join this creative community today.
