Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not.
Support 10,000 new students by 2023.
After seven years working 12-hour long days and weekends, Matt left his company due to lack of growth, however, he didn’t have any marketable skillsets and career prospects were minimal. Today, Matt works as a Full Stack Developer and actually has time to spend with family and friends. Tammy worked many technical and business-related jobs to support her family, yet each one seemed to reflect her limitations to do and be more. She now leads a “Tech Focused” life and is setting new aspirations for her children while working at Google. Rachel didn't know how to merge her passion for service and technology, but now as a Junior Technical Instructor for Cybersecurity at Per Scholas NCR, she's helping to transform the field one student at a time.
This year, Per Scholas celebrated an incredible milestone by enrolling its 10,000th student nationally. Now, we’re asking for your support to help us serve the next 10,000 in just four years. Through Stand Together Foundation, you can help power this achievement by contributing any amount up to $1,000, and we will double it!
Per Scholas already makes an incredible difference for those whose potential is great but whose opportunities are limited -- helping each student build skills to land a good job and gain a foothold in the middle class. 85% of Per Scholas students graduate -- and of those, at least 80% begin working in jobs that pay an average of $21/hour to start. That’s 4x times their average pre-training incomes.
The training and other services we provide are 100% free for participants. But our students aren’t the only ones who benefit. For every $1 we invest in their training, after just three years, they generate more than $8 in economic return (in new wages earned, taxes paid, and reduced use of public services) That kind of impact helps everyone.
This year, as we gear up to serve the next 10,000 students, we are celebrating these broader impacts. Our Tech Powered by 10,000 campaign is highlighting the stories of 16 Per Scholas graduates and the ways in which their new careers are building better futures -- not only for themselves, but also for their families, local businesses, neighborhood and communities. We hope you will consider investing today in the next 10,000 moms, brothers, daughters, veterans, neighbors and friends who will power tech in the next 4 years.
