In 1939, Lou Gehrig brought national and international attention to a disease (now closely associated with his name) that ended the career of one of the most beloved baseball players of all time. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. Currently, there is no cure. Please help us raise money to donate to finding a cure for this tragic disease!
