After the first month or so of job-free bliss, most retirees start looking for a new and interesting way to volunteer and "be involved". We chose the Southern Maine Workers' Center's Health Care is a Human Right Committee for our new adventure.
We're committed to working toward universal health care for every Mainer. We've rallied in the snowy cold, spoken at public forums, written op-eds for the Portland Press Herald, knocked on doors, colleceted surveys, put on potlucks, documented actions with photos, and spoken up and spoken out.
We've also been known to sing Sonny & Cher in support of SMWC's mission. If you support us, we promise to sing our hearts out! Another duet is on the way and, of course, you are invited to the Karaoke party on February 9th!
