Team Peggy & Frank Bia danced at the Donate Life gala 3 years ago and are honored to be doing it again. Donate Life is an organization that has done so much to raise awareness about the value and importance of organ donation. Having spent her entire career as a nephrologist in the transplant program at Yale, Peggy has seen over and over the gift that a donated kidney gives to a patient with kidney failure. She knows that organ donors are the unsung heroes in the transplant world. Frank has also spent most of his career at Yale as an Infectious Disease specialists and has been involved in global health and working with underserved populations.
They are the proud parents of two sons, one of whom has earned a PhD in anthropology and the other about to graduate from Quinnipiac medical school. While retired, Peggy & Frank have learned how to dance at the Arthur Murray studio in Guilford and now dance on cruises and at dance festivals. They also volunteer in several clinics at Yale, precepting medical students in the care of underserved patients.
They are dancing with a goal of raising thousands of dollars for Donate Life so they can continue their important work. Having been married for 52 years they are also celebrating their lives together, dancing a salsa/cha cha to the song “I had the time of my life” to mark this occasion.
