IRONMAN for Anna brings atheletes together from around the nation to race for one unified purpose- to give hope and support to families fighting childhood cancer in the Inland Northwest. All proceeds from IRONMAN for Anna go towards fulfilling the mission of the Anna Schindler Foundation.
The Anna Schindler Foundation (ASF) is dedicated to support families battling childhood cancer in the Inland Northwest while raising awareness of this disease. By providing families with meal cards while their child is inpatient at the hospital, offsetting grocery, gas, car repair, lodging, living and medical expenses, etc., the Anna Schindler Foundation fulfills their mission. If a family has a need, the ASF will exhaust all efforts to lighten the load so the family can focus on the care of their child. Since November 2018, the Anna Schindler Foundation has also been providing safe, temporary housing through Anna’s Homes for pediatric oncology families from outlying areas who must stay close to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital for treatment.
This year, three Pediatric Oncology nurses will be competing in honor of past and present patients they have cared for at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital. Bobbie Perry will be swimming 1.2 miles, Amie Holmquist will be biking 56 miles, and Destiney Martin will be running 13.2 miles. These women have seen firsthand the impact that the Anna Schindler Foundation has on the families of children fighting childhood cancer. They are honored to fight alongside their patients and families! Please consider donating to their important cause.
