Pedaled by Pride is a celebration of the Penn State Alumni Association's 150th anniversary. As alumni, WE ARE very familiar with the collective success and tremendous goals we can reach when everyone is included. By cycling 1,500 miles to all of the campuses in the Penn State system over 15 days (October 2-16, 2020) and raising $150,000, WE ARE exemplifying what it means to put inclusion into action
Pedaled by Pride was conceived by Penn State Alumni Council Member and Intandem Cycling Board Member Susan Robinson. She is an ultra proud Penn Stater!
During her sophomore year at Penn State, Susan was diagnosed with a genetic vision impairment that has no correction or cure. With the support of her family, professors, friends, doctors and others, she changed her career path, adjusted to navigating the world with visual aids, began challenging the limitations others tried to impose on her and give up driving......and riding a bike. InTandem Cycling, a NYC-based not-for-profit organization that provides free year-round tandem cycling programs to others like Susan, got her back on a bike in 2016. Along with the amazing community of InTandem cyclists, she has helped InTandem reach more than 100,000 pedaled miles!
Pedaled by Pride is a most creative blend of two of Susan's passions -- Penn State and cycling -- and supports the inclusion efforts by the Penn Sate Alumni Association for Penn Staters everywhere.
