PeaceLove helps people create peace of mind. Our purpose is to empower people to express what’s going on inside, to access creative tools to improve mental wellbeing and to find peace of mind and love for self.
To date, we have equipped over 150 frontline professionals (i.e. teachers, social workers, nurses) with PeaceLove programs. We train these CREATORS to teach creative expression as a wellness habit, just like you’d teach someone to practice yoga or use a journal. Then, they’re able to offer ongoing workshops in their communities where they help people explore visual arts, storytelling, sound, and movement as tools that make it easier to talk about and support each other’s mental health. These workshops help people understand that being vulnerable is valuable.
Thanks to our growing family of CREATORS, over 75,000 people have been introduced to this life-changing tool – creativity as a means of creating peace in their minds and lives. When we share our art, we tell our story. We build community, we build trust, we build safe space, and we create meaningful conversations around mental health. Here’s what they have to say about PeaceLove:
“PeaceLove helps to remind me that I’m still human” -Incarcerated Individual, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, OH
“I can talk more about my feelings ‘cause other people can relate and feel the same way.” -Child, Natchaug Hospital, CT
“It was liberating! I can release my emotions on paper or in my own way creatively. I love it!” -Veteran, VA Hospital, IN
With your support, we can continue to make our programs more accessible, and support our team on the front lines. As we often joke, “We’re in the Peace of Mind business.” That’s not going to change. Our partner, Stand Together is committed to fueling community-based catalysts for social change. As part of their #HelpTheHelpers campaign, they will match all your donations to PeaceLove up to $100,000.
As COVID-19 continues to impact communities around the globe, we are finding new ways to create peace of mind. Our virtual workshops allow us to deliver expressive arts experiences while we practice social distancing, and provide relief to those coping with the uncertainty of this time.
For those of you who have donated, we cannot thank you enough. If you cannot donate today, please consider supporting us through our social media platforms.
