St. James Lutheran Church and School is blessed with a beautiful building that is used extensively every day by little children, teens, seniors and adults alike. It has hosted countless weddings, baptisms, confirmations, scout meetings, AA meetings, craft groups along with weekly worship and always been a beacon of light in the community. Unfortunately, over time our building has fallen into some disrepair. Bathrooms became inadequate and unattractive. Even some of the plumbing lines had begun to rot! Moreover, those bathrooms were not accessible from the sanctuary by anyone who had a problem with stairs. Lastly, the sanctuary itself had become inaccessible to many dear people because our elevator was more and more prone to breakdowns.
But no more, thank God!The bathrooms in the sub-story have now been beautifully renovated, the plumbing has been fixed, and a new family bathroom (wheelchair accessible) has been added.
A new, bigger, dependable elevator has been installed, attractively housed so as to be totally protected from the weather.
A new `upstairs’ bathroom is being built right now off the narthex (foyer).
These are changes we have long hoped to see, and now they are a reality.
In order to partially fund our construction project, we had to take out a loan in the amount of $150,000. We want to pay that loan down! We want to Pay Off the Principal, or “POP”! Many church members have already given generously, but we are hoping all the friends of our church will contribute to this important work.
Will you help us reach our goal by giving generously?
Will you also share this Go Fund Me page with others who might like to help too?
Thank you so much for helping us continue to be a place of hope and blessing.
Our goal is $25,000
