Here at Greenbriar School, spending time in nature has always been an essential part of our curriculum. With Covid-19 social distancing is necessary to provide the safest possible opening of our school this fall. Greenbriar School is working hard to create such a safe place, implementing hand wash stations around the school grounds, and regularly updated protocols. We have recently approved budget and are building additional restroom facilities. While Greenbriar School has plenty of outdoor space, we lack covered space that will facilitate social distancing by allowing multiple small student groups to be spread out. The School has approved a design to build an outdoor pavilion covered roof space 24ft by 22ft. We are seeking to raise $1500 for materials(see quote below) to make this project happen.
We are excited to be working with a candidate to receive the Stars & Stripes Award program through the American Heritage Girls. As part of this award, the candidate must plan, develop, and supervise others in a project which would make a lasting and measurable impact on the community. She is tasked with seeking an organization whose purpose does not conflict with AHG’s Oath, Creed, and Mission. The project requires a minimum of 100 hours of service, which includes the hours of those volunteering under the leadership of the candidate, and mandatory hours of supervision of other youth. The project must meet a series of approvals, be well documented, and show evidence of leadership and planning. The project she proposes will be reviewed and must meet certain standards and requirements. The candidate will not be able to commit to your organization until her project proposal is accepted and a detailed description of the project process is approved.
