My wife and I were born and raised near Dover, New Hampshire and it is also where we raised our children. Wentworth-Douglass Hospital was an integral part of the healthcare both our families benefited from throughout our childhood and adult lives. In 1985, Lisa’s father was diagnosed with lung cancer. Cancer treatments were not available locally then, so he had to travel over an hour and missed many treatments because he was too ill. Tragically, he lost his battle after a few short months. My father also contracted cancer and was treated at Wentworth-Douglass. Although he also eventually succumbed to the illness, his life was extended and more importantly his quality of life was enhanced through his treatment and the exceptional caregivers at the Seacoast Cancer Center.
Being the long-time Patriots fans that we are, we of course named our team the Patriots Pals. Since the race is also on Sunday, we are forced to choose between this great cause and attending the game. We figured we would combine the two, bringing the spirit of the game to the race; our whole team tailgates from the start of the race until after the award ceremony. Come on and join us!
