Community sports clubs are among the hardest hit small businesses, impacted by our current global crisis. With Spring season effectively cancelled, and many Summer tournaments called off, Patriot Aquatics is one such club that has weathered great financial loss, during this time.
More than just developing athletic skills, Patriot focuses on helping kids develop confidence, mastery, self-assurance, and a sense of belonging. These are important traits that make childhood happier and adulthood easier.
Patriot’s team of distinguished and dedicated coaches have worked tirelessly throughout the COVID-19 shutdowns to continue to cultivate these traits, as well as athletic skills, in their members. They check in virtually with their teams several times per week to teach skills via videos, conduct workouts, discuss future goals, and more.
Social Distancing, while necessary, has disrupted our plans and left many of us – adults and kids alike – feeling like there is no point in working on our passions while the world is on pause. At Patriot, we don’t stand for that. We have taken this as an opportunity to help kids focus on and develop their dreams in a different way. We believe this is imperative to kids’ overall well-being and growth.
We are asking for donations at this time to keep our coaches on board, so that they can continue to provide virtual coaching for our members. Many of these kids have strong working relationships with their coaches and team members. While kids are essentially stuck inside, it can make their day to meet up with their coach virtually, joke around with their team members via zoom, learn about swim or water polo, and continue to work toward their goals. Every little bit counts and we thank you for any contribution you can make.
