Thank you for supporting me by considering to give to the arch of houston.
Im getting a bit of a late start on this. This year has been a particularly difficult one for me. A few days after the new year I tested positive for Covid-19. My recovery has taken quite a bit longer than it has for my immediate family. Thank goodness that everyone in my household recovered completely. Unfortunately, I fall into a 10% group that has long haul symptoms after contracting the virus. The lasting effects are particularly unerving for me as I now have an irregular heart Arrythmia that happens from time to time and is quite scary. The doctors say its a bit of a waiting game that the Arrythmia should not be life threatening. im hoping it clears up as i train For this ride.
With that said tho, I have begun training for this 540 mile ride with a particular mission in mind. Of course to raise money for The Arch of Houston!
This ride has also become a family bonding experience with my retired father and mother. I already rode in 2019 with my dad and mom was on board as rider support. I will be riding again with dad this year. Mom will not be on board for rider support this time.
Those that dont know, Mike McMahon (aka Dad) has had two quad bypass surguries and against all odds he continues to find health riding his bike. He rides on his Scaffold of a bike named Clyde. Despite there being no Tour du Rouge in 2020 he rode an amazing 10,000 miles on his bike. This guy deserves an award. Show your support by going over to his fundraiser page and make a donation. Good work DAD!

Resistors BC is a Washington Metropolitan Area cycling club dedicated to supporting cycling fundraisers for disenfranchised individuals with disabilities.
Our riders this year include Pat McMahon, Mike McMahon, Paul East, Patrick Berkebile , Skai Shadow, And Bill Devany. You can visit our Facebook page to watch our progress during the ride and see team pictures and get information on forthcoming local fundraising events. https://www.facebook.com/Resistors-BC-2028158723979387/
We are all very proud to once again be part of Resistors BC, a team of committed riders known for our Neon Pink uniforms. This is our 5th ride in the Tour as a Team. We are all fully committed to raising funds on behalf of the The Arc and to help achieve its mission to advocate on behalf of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Last year our ride was canceled and unfortunatelly this has effected The Arc of Houston. This years fundraiser is more important than ever to help them get back on track as this ride usually raises more than 10% of the yearly operating budget.

We will be working hard to meet and far exceed our individual goals of $2,750 in fundraising. The Arc is an important fixture in all of our communities nationwide and that is why we are riding in the Tour du Rouge! We have each pledged to raise at least $2,750 to support the great work of The Arc. Our personal goals are significantly greater than that! We need your help to meet and exceed our goals.
For a $100 donation you will receive a Resistors t-shirt.
