Thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page!
As most of you know I have a huge passion for running and have run numerous races in the past. However it’s been nearly 3 years since I ran my first ever marathon and now I want to take on the challenge of running my second one! Therefore on 11th October 2020 I will be running the Chicago Marathon with my husband Rob in the ‘Windy City’ on behalf of a great cause which is very close to my heart.
My Mom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2014 and recently one of my friends was diagnosed with it in 2019. Parkinson’s Disease reduces the number of neurons in the brain responsible for producing dopamine, which plays a major role in motor coordination and memory. It is a progressive disease, which means it can start with something as small as a tremor and eventually lead to things like the loss of autonomic movements (blinking, smiling) and the ability to chew/swallow food. More than ten million people worldwide currently live with the disease.
If you would like to help make a difference please join me in supporting the Parkinson’s Foundation. Any donations no matter how small are much appreciated and will go a long way. I hope one day they can find a cure and improve life for everyone that is affected by Parkinsons. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
