The Season of Giving is upon us and we’re happy to team up with Food Lifeline to help feed our neighbors experiencing hunger.
In a typical month, about 850,000 people in our state rely on some form of food assistance. This number has doubled to 1.6 million people as a result of the economic hardship caused by the pandemic. Driven by increases in unemployment and poverty, this number is projected to increase to 2.2 million individuals by the end of the year.
The Season of Giving encourages us to celebrate the season’s diverse cultural traditions and observances as well as the many ways our community comes together to support each other this time of the year. Some give money. Some give food/supplies. Some give their voice in advocacy. Others give time to volunteering. Many give in multiple ways!
We invite you in the spirit of giving to support our virtual and canned food drives.
- $25 helps feed a home bound senior for 1 month
- $50 helps feed a family visiting a food bank for 2 weeks
- $100 provides emergency food boxes for 5 families at a drive through food distribution
Terry Cook, Lead Advisor, will be matching all donations, dollar for dollar, up to $1,000 and doubling the impact of your donation!
