Art-making and creativity stimulate the imagination, provide emotional comfort, enhance problem-solving skills, boost self-esteem by providing a sense of accomplishment, and allow us to be in the moment with our thoughts and feelings. Art also offers us a way to connect and collaborate with others.
With children continuing to learn from home, isolated from their peers and teachers, enrichment through art is more important than ever. William Wells Brown, a public elementary school in Lexington, Kentucky, no longer has funding to support an art program or art teacher at their school.
To help fill this critical need, Painting Outside Of The Lines is partnering with On The Move Art Studio, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing art instruction in underserved neighborhoods. On The Move Art Studio has volunteered to provide William Wells Brown's students with 16 free art lessons. that can be completed at home as part of the school’s virtual learning curriculum.
Painting Outside Of The Lines has committed to providing these students with the art supplies that they need to complete the art lessons and to foster their creativity and artistic expression. Please join our effort to provide these art supplies and at-home art instruction. Your donation will directly support the purchase of at-home art kits for each William Wells student, to include: water colors, oil pastels, paint brushes, glue sticks, scissors, fine-point markers, multi-cultural crayons, construction paper, and mixed media paper.
