SUPPORT US TO ROW 3000 MILES TO CLOTHE 3000 AT-RISK KIDS!
This December, our team is taking on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge; a 3000-mile rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean. We will be self-sufficient for over a month at sea and will have to endure whatever the ocean throws our way! Our mission is to use this adventure to promote the Assistance League of Seattle’s Operation School Bell, a volunteer-run program that provides new clothes to at-risk students throughout the Seattle school district. The row requires a great deal of preparation and we now need your help to raise $55,000 to help us reach the start line. Follow us on social media and share the adventure with friends and family! Our sincere thanks and welcome aboard!
THE RACE ACROSS THE OCEAN
The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge is an ocean rowing race that starts in Spain and finishes 3,000 miles west in the Caribbean. The race is unsupported; we will carry everything we need for the crossing on our boat. Our team will encounter harsh weather, exhaustion, and heavy seas, to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic.
HOW WE MET
Jonathan has been dreaming of rowing an ocean since 2013, inspired by stories online, so in 2018 he took a trip to the start of the race and started building a team. Isaac joined through a mutual friend, with Kramer joining after an email connected us at work. By late 2019 team Pacific Boys was born. We pooled our money, purchased an ocean rowing boat, and transported her to Seattle to begin training.
Our training includes multi-day rowing expeditions on the Puget Sound and Pacific Ocean. We row hundreds of miles in a variety of challenging conditions. In March 2020, Covid limited our ability to travel and train. It changed the economic climate for seeking sponsorship, and in May 2020, we had to postpone our original race entry.
Our friends and the Seattle Community kept us afloat during Covid. People attended our events, followed our journey, and local businesses have provided key in-kind services. With all this support, we wanted to find a way to use our adventure to do good.
We couldn’t dream of this adventure without our education. So when we discovered Assistance League, we fell in love with the cause. Assistance League of Seattle are volunteers who help provide clothing, and medical access, to improve outcomes of early education. Something as simple as having a new pair of clothes to wear to school makes a big difference, so we are proud to be dedicating our row to raising awareness for their efforts. Once we’ve raised the funds needed to complete our row, our adventure will focus on local events and media to directly support Assistance League.
WITH YOUR HELP, TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE
Now we need your help. We have invested over $100,000 of our own money and we are confident we have what it takes to row across the Atlantic and that our adventure will inspire others to make a difference You can follow our journey on social media and sign up for updates on our website: pacificboys.com. But most importantly, we invite you to contribute to our GoFundMe campaign. We have reward packages for your contribution; and every dollar helps. We need $55,000 to reach the start line. Your funds will help with logistics, safety equipment, food, satellite minutes, and local events to support our cause. Our mission is to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean this December, which is far from easy. We’re committed to giving it all we’ve got, but we can’t make it alone. We’re planning more challenging training rows for the summer in preparation for the Atlantic Challenge in December. The next three months are vital for our team to prepare for the race, continue hosting more fund-raising events for the Assistance League and work towards reaching our ultimate goal of supporting 3,000 Seattle children.

Our sincere thank you. Adventure On!
The Pacific Boys
We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity and your donation is tax-deductible in the USA.
What are the donations for?
- Donations will directly help and fund the team’s campaign. Your donation will help us get to the starting line. We have invested over $100K of our money and we are so close to meeting our goal. Our hope is to raise $55K!
Who are the Pacific Boys?
- Our team came together so that we can row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic ocean. We are adventurers at heart, and are proud to represent and support the Pacific Coast community on an international stage!
What if we don't hit our goal?
- Whether we hit our goal today or next month, your gift will help make this a success. It's not an "all or nothing campaign". Literally, every donation counts - we will complete this journey!
What is the full cost of the project?
- Rowing across an ocean is expensive, we have already invested over $100k of our own money into this adventure, and we are so close to making it. We need your help to raise $55k to get us to the start line and put on exciting events that will help us achieve our mission of 3,000 for 3,000.
What’s happening currently?
- As vaccination becomes available and COVID procedures improve, we are planning more events! Recently we completed the 360-mile Washington360 around the Puget Sound, rowing non-stop for nearly 100 hours. We have also been holding small scale rowing-related events around Seattle, including a 24-hour erg-a-thon at the Assistance League of Seattle early-April, and an Expedition Showcase at the Center for Wooden Boats in South Lake Union, Seattle. Stay tuned for more!
