The Paramount Arts Center is a rare example of theater design from the golden age of motion pictures. The structure, layout, and embellishment of the venue are dramatic and serve as a symbol of historical significance to the greater Ashland community. The exterior of the theater is monumental, almost like a security vault for the lavish Art Deco style decor within. The large marquee (canopy) and vertical signboard (Great Sign), dotted with electric lights in Neo-Baroque scrolls, are dramatic against the austere setting. The PAC marquee is the first thing that you see as you enter downtown Ashland. It's a reminder of the rich history of the city and promise for a bright future. Years of exposure to harsh weather has caused significant corrosion and material loss to the marquee great sign. We need your help to restore this beautiful piece of Ashland's history to its original glory. This restoration project is crucial to the preservation of a Kentucky historical landmark and the crown jewel of our Ashland community. Please help TODAY by donating to this important project. Any dollar amount is appreciated!
