The P-63 Sponsor Group is currently looking for a target of $10,000 as seed money for a new PAINT JOB, which it desperately needs. After much time and effort, the majority of the rebuild/maintenance/restoration work has been completed. We have had the airplane out in the airshow circuit, and promoting the CAF mission, for 2 full years now. Our goal is to repaint the airplane in the scheme that it wore as it rolled off the assembly line, near the end of WWII. As one of only two F models produced, we believe it was produced as a “proof of concept” model, for further production upgrades, and it’s original paint scheme reflected it’s “experimental;” status. After the war, it was sold on the civilian market with only 28 hours on the airframe and was subsequently used as a race plane. Our airplane has a rich and interesting past. We are certain that a new and historically accurate livery, will help us campaign our aircraft more successfully.
