2018 has been our most exciting and active year yet! We welcomed new Scholars into our program in Washington, DC and for the first time Scholars in Nairobi, Kenya joined the OWL family. The kids expanded their knowledge of STEM in the classroom and through many field study trips. At the core of our in-class instruction and the exposure to STEM careers we arrange, are always lessons about the importance of youth and community service.
This year OWL Scholars in DC and Nairobi built web sites, conducted chemistry experiments, worked on electrical engineering projects, learned about data collection and analysis, researched climate change, ecology, & marine biology, and wrote computer programs. They did all of this while expanding their knowledge and appreciation of social and environmental
issues and exploring how STEM knowledge can be employed to help tackle these issues.
In 2019 we plan to expand our cohorts in DC and Nairobi to serve more kids, and to achieve that goal we'll need the support of people like you. Please consider an end-of-year donation to help us continue our work and expand. All donations made by December 31st are tax deductible for 2018 and go toward supporting OpenWise Learning's mission of transforming marginalized kids into STEM Fluent Global Leaders.
Our end-of-year fundraising goal is $5000, and we know we can reach it with your support. If you can only give $50, $25 or $10, please do. All your donations are equally valued and appreciated. Please also share this campaign with your network.
