Chances are, if you are reading this, you know one of us: Chris and/or Jane Werling, Seth and/or Jenn Moland-Kovash. Maybe you're lucky enough to know all four of us. Maybe you know that some of us like to cook or watch baseball, or have a crush on Peter Sagal, and all of us like to play games. Ok, truthfully, we like to play games a lot. Pretty nerdy games at times, and trivia. We even sought out an evening of trivia at a brewery when we were on vacation together in North Carolina.
But none of that really explains why we're playing Trivia for Cheaters and raising money for 826CHI. Besides cooking and games, we believe fundamentally in education and communication, and education about communication. And that's where 826CHI and this evening of Trivia for Cheaters comes in.
826CHI is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
HOW COOL IS THAT!?
Yea, it's pretty cool.
Strong writing skills are fundamental to future success: reading, writing, exploration of imagination, communicating effectively, telling stories, and yes, writing fundrasing appeals.
826CHI encourages exploration of endless possibilities, which let's be honest, is not helpful for a team with the name Overthinking It, but is wildly helpful for students and teachers and communities to explore through writing.
826CHI supports all of those people: students and teachers and communities so that in the days, years, generations to come, they are stronger for all of us.
Our team has a habit of Overthinking It, but donating to help 826CHI is an easy decision. Won't you join us?
