Overdose Lifeline, Inc. (ODL) is a statewide Indiana nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals, families, and communities affected by the disease of addiction / substance use disorder through advocacy, education, harm reduction, prevention, resources, and support.
The organization has been on the front-lines of the opioid epidemic since 2014.
The Need is Big
The U.S. is in the midst of an opioid overdose epidemic with every American state, county, socio-economic and ethnic group is impacted. Opioids killed more than 47,700 people in 2017. Overdose Lifeline developed harm reduction and prevention programs to equip first responders and individuals and families with the opioid overdose reversal drug naloxone and developed a one-of-a-kind youth prevention program designed to educate and prevent the first use. But there much more work to be done. More individuals and communities in need - and as important - Overdose Lifeline has a very specific “to-do” list that addresses initiatives critical to reducing/managing this epidemic.
