This is our fourth year at Lap The Gats. Last year was a breakthrough. We had to turn away riders because we hit the ceiling of 6 per team. And most riders did three gruelling laps. Grandchildren, births, injuries and distractions, including canoeing, running in races, weight lifting and swimming, have taken a small toll this year. Our ride preparation has been less strenuous. Maybe we will lower expectations for the ride (but hey, two laps is a very decent ride) and increase expectations on the social side. The after-party and the Parkinson cause take on increasing importance.
