Help us buy Groceries for distressed F1 visa students from India who have no jobs or income to support themselves.
OVBI, a volunteer organization, is stepping forward to help distressed Indian students who are in the USA on an F1 visa and who have been deeply affected by the COVID-19 crisis, Many students are in financial difficulty as they can't afford to buy groceries, have to pay back student loans, require emergency travel back home, need medical assistance etc. Most on-campus jobs and other jobs including Internships have been put on hold by companies, and so it has become very challenging for these students to pay the high rents (in cities like Boston), and cover basic necessities.
Your donations will pay for groceries and basic supplies for these students so don’t have to struggle for food on the table, what we often take for granted. Students getting aid are being carefully selected based on their financial background and current situation. The OVBI team is in touch with the Indian Student Associations from various Universities and getting information that is validated by other sources. We already have a list of such students in financial distress from Northeastern University (NEU) in Boston, MA, University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and the list is growing, all are waiting to be helped on URGENT basis.
Time is of essence as the students are in panic mode due to financial burden and the loans they have to pay back, rents that are due and need for survival.
So please donate generously, every dollar counts. No money is spent for administrative purposes (other than platform fees for funds collected). OVBI volunteers believe in the concept of selfless seva that is done for the betterment of humanity, so please be assured that your donations will directly go towards providing basic necessities for students.
