We are extremely excited and fortunate to have a brand new concession building that was just completed, replacing the old trailer that served for a few decades as the snack bar at Long Beach Pony Baseball.
However, the 5-year project took many twists and turns along the way, with the final funds being exhausted on the delivery and prep of the new building. The profits made from snack shack revenue, helps keep the cost of registration fees lower and allows us to deliver a high level program with an all volunteer organization.
Financially, we have estimated the cost to do only the basic needs, as being about $5000. We need an ice machine, large freezer, large refrigerator, soda system, microwave, wire storage racks, shelving, counters, and many other smaller things.
We are asking for any help to get these items purchased, and ready to go for Opening Day 2020 on February, 23rd, 2020.
We are calling on our Whaley Park Alumni, Long Beach Pony families and fans, local fans of our very successful Pony World Series runs, or anyone else that wants to help out a small, recreation baseball program, that still does it the old-school way - Volunteers coaching kids to be better baseball players... for the pure love of the game, and for no personal financial benefit from it at all. Our payback is watching our players go and succeed at the next levels.
