The Baltimore Community Museum will be undergoing a major collections project this summer. The goal of this important project is to inventory, catalogue, and properly preserve every object, artifact, book and photograph in the museum - something that has never been done here before. This project is an important step for our museum, and once complete, will greatly increase our chances for grant funding in the future.
With the help of our smart and talented class of summer interns, this project will get a huge head start. These interns are excited about the preservation of history and interested in museum work. It is my hope that this internship will help them to move foward in their careers as museum workers. Our community and museum are lucky to have their help and expertise.
The interns will be working for free - but the museum would love to be able to help out with their relocation and living expenses as needed.
We are asking the local community to recognize the invaluable service these interns are providing to our museum and to consider donating few dollars to help make their summer a little more worry-free.
