The Humane Society is an Adoption Guarantee facility that is fully funded by grants, donations and fundraisers. We understand that times are tough for a lot of people in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we ask that you consider making a donation to help with the care of the many homeless animals we care for every day.
With the COVID-19 pandemic weighing on everyone, we regret that we are unable to hold the wonderful fundraising events that allow you to socially enjoy the company of others while donating to a great cause. We look forward to the time when we can again organize great fundraisers to bring the community together, but for the time being, we must do what is necessary to help in preventing the spread of the virus.
Unfortunately, without fundraising, we are concerned about the financial stability of our organization. With approximately 20 dogs and 150 cats currently in the shelter, our animals are always in need of something. Vaccines and medications are needed on a daily basis and spays/neuters are a necessity to help stop the overpopulation problem. We also have animals that are in need of other surgical care.
One example of this is Diesel, a 1 ½ year old lab mix that has Patellar Luxation in both knees of his hind legs (his knee caps do not stay in place). He is not in any pain, but will need the surgery to fix this problem in order have a better quality of life in the future.
If you would like to help with the care of the animals at the Indiana County Humane Society, please consider making a donation today. Our shelter family thanks you!!
