It has been an extraordinary year for SPACE - filled with inspiring creative work, hearty food and lively conversation. The big news that we have been sitting on and thrilled to finally announce is that SPACE will be taking on the farming operation at Ryder Farm in January 2019. We are grateful to the relentlessly hard-working Betsey Ryder, Ryder Farm’s farm manager for 40 years, who will be retiring from farming at the close of 2018, leaving us with the tremendous task of filling her shoes.
SPACE’s mission has always been two fold: to support artists and innovators and their work and to contribute to the sustainability and resourceful preservation of Ryder Farm. What sits in front of us in 2019 is the incredible opportunity to more fully realize the ambition of our mission. The immediate future sees our artist and activist residents not working next to our farmers, but in deep collaboration with them.
We can’t do it without you. Please make a tax-deductible donation to SPACE today.
Ryder Farm supplied us with the canvas to have a vision of a place, where the focus isn’t just art, social justice or agriculture, but all of it. What we are endeavoring to create is a way of living. A way of being with one another. We’re inventing a world that is one we want to live in. While this Crowdrise campaign is only a piece of our end-of-year fundraising efforts, it is a very important one. Please help us raise $20,000 to ensure that our vision can reach its full potential by making a tax-deductible contribution before December 31st.
