Our beautiful baby girl Amelia Mae Watkins was born on July 11th 2016 and came in to this world with her hair on fire! She never stopped moving, never stopped "talking", and could make anyone smile. The amount of love packed in to such a small package will continue to amaze me for the rest of my life. On a trip moving from Virginia to California we were delivered the news that would change our lives forever..."Your baby has cancer". She was diagnosed with high risk stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer and treatment began immediately. At just 10 months old, Millie did everything she could to fight this terrible disease, but just 8 short days after we found out, at 4:15pm on June 6th 2017, our baby girl got her wings. On that day as any parent would, we kissed her chubby cheeks, told her we loved her, and promised we'd do big things in her name. This is one of those things!
Since that day our family has been working with the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation (CNCF) to raise money in Millie's name for research to help find a cure and ensure that no other family has to endure this pain. On April 7th 2018 we will compete in the Oceanside Half Ironman and every donation we recieve will go straight to CNCF to help find a cure. Please help us continue to keep Amelia's memory alive as we race for a cure!
