i’m traveling for my birthday this year which means the only downside is that i’m not home with all the people i love (partying sentient robot-style). Instead of a drink or other birthday shenanigan$, this year i’d love if people might consider donating that beer’s worth of change to this cool cause:
WWF works towards conservation of our wild spaces above and below the sea.
one of the favorite places we’ve found so far is koh lipe. earlier this week, we went to the protected national park and picked up a heaping garbage truck’s worth of bottles, flip flops, styrofoam, bags, ropes, lighters and a slew of plastic mishmash. it took six boats and 39 volunteers to remove a small mountain of pollution from two small [sparkling, lush, sanguine] beaches. $300 will sustain the clean up for a week. thanks to anyone who can help support this effort!
koh lipe is a remote island off the south wesf coasf of thailand right next to incredible national park that has a huge range of biodiverse wildlife (thailand has 10% of the planet‘s biodiversity). you can walk along the beach at night and see bioluminescent glowing plankton wash up on shore. you can collect them in your palms to turn your hands into light kaliedoscopes or you can put them on your friends’ faces to turn them into avatars. it‘s truly phenomenal and i‘d love any help to keep this place preserved so that other people can come here and have their minds blown by ocean glow twinkles for years to come.
thanks and love!
