Friends & Family:
I have chosen to join the One Summit 2020 Boston Marathon team! I couldn't be more excited, and a little overwhelmed by the task at hand. However, the "task at hand" for me pales in comparison to those suffering from pediatric cancer. Please consider donating to this wonderful cause!
I have followed One Summit, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, for the last few years and have been moved by their mission of building resilience in pediatric cancer patients and their families through experiential learning and mentorship with Navy SEALs, storytelling and community engagement. I have always wanted to get involved in some way but didn't quite know how. On a whim this fall, I jumped in and committed to raising money for One Summit and running the Boston Marathon on their team. I have witnessed the impact and strain that cancer puts on on the patiend and their families and want to do whatever I can to help!
All of the funds raised will support One Summit’s mission and programs, including Climb for Courage, an experiential learning approach to building resilience in pediatric cancer patients and their siblings. At Climb for Courage, little warriors are matched 1:1 with a Navy SEAL and guided through a day of indoor rock-climbing and a learning curriculum based on teamwork, goal setting and overcoming adversity. The experience, coupled with the long-lasting friendship formed with their Navy SEAL, provides each child with an additional source of strength and encouragement to fight cancer. Climb for Courage simultaneously provides each Navy SEAL mentor with the opportunity to reapply their knowledge and skills into a structured, community-based program.
Each year, One Summit's Climb for Courage and Climb Higher Boston programs impact over 50 MA-based pediatric cancer patients and their siblings.
Please join me and help by making a donation to One Summit! Thanks in advance! Be on the lookout for some fundraising events over the next few months!
