A perennial favorite among residents, the annual Southern Highlands Memorial Day Celebration is typically a community-focused, family day filled with field games, raffles, food, drinks, water slides, live music, face-painting, a fireworks extravaganza, and more. Designed to not only provide a fun-filled day of community celebration, the event also honors and supports the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. Historically, funds collected through raffle ticket, food, and beverage sales went directly to support Nellis and Creech Air Force Base’s Operation Warm Heart – a private, non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to local airmen and their families.
This year, while the in-person festival has been cancelled in accordance with current safety directives, the need for the services and programs that Operation Warm Heart provides to the men and women of Creech and Nellis is greater than ever. Therefore, we are asking that you consider donating through this Go Fund Me page, so that charitable funds can still be distributed.
Hosted by the Southern Highlands Community Association in partnership with the Olympia Companies SH Charitable Foundation and the Southern Highlands Builders Cooperative, this year, the Memorial Day Celebration has transformed to a view-from-home fireworks display.
As you can imagine, we look forward to enjoying coming together as a community in the future but in the meantime, thank you for supporting Operation Warm Heart and thank you for making the Las Vegas Valley a community that leads by example in demonstrating compassion for others.
