The Pink Patch Project began as a collaborative effort between public safety agencies throughout the nation to raise public awareness and funds for Breast Cancer research and Treatment.
In 2020, Surprise Police and Fire-Medical Departments will partner in participating in this national campaign by supporting the American Cancer Society. Our staff chose to support the American Cancer Society to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment for ALL forms of cancer and to raise funds for cancer research, treatment, and public education because it has affected so many lives in our community.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, members of the Surprise Police Department and Surprise Fire-Medical Department will wear pink patches and uniform shirts in an effort to raise awareness about cancer and to help find a cure. In addition, community members are welcome to purchase replica shoulder patches for $10 or lapel pins for $5 from both departments. This year, Surprise Police Department is also offering a 22 oz PPP pink stadium cup with black lettering for $5 and a 17 oz PPP color changing cup with pink lettering for $5. Proceeds from the sales of these items benefit the American Cancer Society and the Pink Patch Project programs.
Items will be available for purchase beginning October 1st. Please continue to monitor all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Nextdoor) for information about dates and locations for sales.
Members of the Surprise Police Department and Surprise Fire-Medical Department thank you for your continued support!
