We are One Team as we support the Hanford mission to protect the environment and community from the legacy hazards of nuclear waste. We are 10,000 strong across several contractors and unions supporting the Department of Energy’s Hanford Site. Today, we come together again as a team to help address the unprecedented level of food needs in our community. We are part of the community – from Connell to Richland and Walla Walla to Yakima. Help us feed our neighbors by donating to Second Harvest.
Your help is needed more than ever. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about major changes to daily life in the Columbia Basin. More people than ever are turning to food banks, many for the first time, due to the public health and economic crisis. Businesses remain closed and joblessness is skyrocketing. As schools remain closed, not all kids are receiving the free and reduced-price school meals they relied on for nutrition. Seniors are facing increased barriers to food access as a high-risk population for COVID-19 complications.
Because of the surge in demand for food assistance in the region, donated food is flowing out Second Harvest's doors more quickly than it is flowing in, and the need is expected to grow as more people feel the financial consequences. Your donation today will help stabilize the food supply chain and provide food to children, families and seniors facing hunger. Thank you for helping to ensure there is food available when it is needed most in our community.
