The Kilimanjaro Project has a big mission - millions of to be planted and conserved on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Our 2018 goal is ONE MILLION - we're planting 160,000 this rainy season (more than 45,000 are in the ground already), and have another 840,000 to go to reach our target for 2018. Sustainability and transparency are at the core of what we do!
We can't do this alone! Our campaign slogan is Tuje Pamoja, which in swahili means, "let us come together" - we believe that the only way we can look after our planet for future generations is if we come together to do it!
ONE usd gets ONE tree planted.
Once you've donated, we'll send you a certificate indicating the trees that will be planted in your honour on the slopes of Kilimanjaro. And we invite you to join the "Tuje Pamoja challenge." When you have your certificate, you can post on your social media channels and challenge your friends to join in -
Bronze Certificate 10-50 trees
Silver Certificate 50-100 trees
Gold Certificate 100-500 trees
Tanzanite 500+ trees
We're investigating the following question
How do we make it more economically viable to keep a tree in the ground than to cut it down. We're working closely with local communities, religious leaders, and schools to ensure that our trees stay alive. We have even partnered with tree tracker app from Greenstand so we can geotag and monitor our trees using this amazing platform. The Tree Tracker App is able to connect funds directly from donor to planter, encouraging people to become growers not planters and get paid to keep trees alive! (see greenstand.org).
Let's do this!
Let's reforest Kilimanjaro and inspire people around the world to get growing!
