One hundred tribal girls have dreams of stepping out of poverty, for themselves, their family, and their community. Education is one of the few accessible doors that leads to their dreams, be it becoming a school teacher, a nurse or doctor, an accountant, journalist, or maybe, running one's own business.
In July 2019, We held a Career and Scholarship Day in rural India, at Shri Nityanand Education Trust's (SNET) facility, to inspire young women of the outback of rural India, to pursue their dreams. We offered them a chance to receive financial assistance to attend primary, finish secondary school, and/or continue to college or vocational training. Over one hunderd young ladies and their mothers attended the event.
At the annual event, recipients of scholarships from previous years stepped up to the podium and spoke of the life changing impact of education on their lives and fulfulliment of their dreams.
In addition to providing scholarships for girls, SNET also runs a computer lab for local youth to learn various computer skills: typing English and Marathi, basic operation, accounting classes, prep course for government jobs. This crowdrise helps run the year long program that services over 200 children a month.
After meeting with each applicant, we interview their family in their home to verify their need and commitment to support their daughter in eductation. Only those famlies that agree to helping their daughters complete their education will be awareded a scholarship.
Please help us reach our goal of giving much needed support and encouragement to a group of girls who will be CHANGE AGENTS in their community.
