PULSE cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. They invite recent, college graduates (like myself) to partner with local nonprofits for a year of service and leadership. I got excited about the PULSE program because during my time as a Pitt student, I had the opportunity to research and evaluate a local Pittsburgh nonprofit for one of my classes. My interest was piqued, and PULSE will allow me to pursue that interest and create a career in a field that I really enjoy. I will also be able to continue living in the city that I have come to love.
I am looking forward to moving back to Pittsburgh, working and living alongside like-minded individuals, and working in a field in which I am passionate about . My hope for the year is to learn more about Pittsburgh and help the city and its people grow. I’m also hoping to teach my peers about Pittsburgh and learn more about myself and the people I will work and live with.
