Olde Crabs Charitable Ice Hockey Tournament
The Olde Crabs Hockey Club will host our Fourteenth Annual Charity Ice Hockey Tournament beginning tomorrow. Tasked with being the Tournament Chairman again I've been so busy organizing and preparing for the event that I never got around to asking for your help. Over the past thirteen years the Crabs have raised over $135,000 for charitable causes in and around Fairfield and Westchester counties. Last year we raised and gave away $33,000 to deserving and in need organizations like Ann's Place for cancer victims, the Dorothy Day Hospitality House serving the homeless and disadvantaged, The Children and Family Aid Society of Danbury, The Veterans Outreach Entreprenuership School at UConn, Fisher HouseNew Haven providing housing for veterans families during hospitalizations, and the CT Storm, providing a safe hockey experience for children and young adults with developmental disabilities, among many others. These organizations continue to be financially challenged and in need of support. The Olde Crabs Tournament is our centerpiece for raising funds for these charitable enterprises. Over the next three days we'll host over 350 senor hockey players scattered among 50's 60's and 70 year old hockey geezers, as well as a few dozen over 40 women, dedicated to playing hockey and raising money for those in need. The registration fees received from the twenty six teams will cover the cost of the event so all donations received from supporters like you are are deposited directly to our our giving program and distributed before year end. I'd be most grateful for any donation you can find in your heart. Please join me and the Olde Crabs in helping those in need. Thank you and God Bless you, EC, #8
