It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. And at Old Friends, the Thoroughbred Retirement Farm based in Georgetown, KY, we know what that means: snow-packed hooves, icy whiskers, and frosty tails. It might be lovely weather for a sleigh ride together but the winter season is tough on horses braving the elements, and so they need constant hay to stay warm. We have 175 retirees, and each can consume a bale or more per day when the weather turns arctic. (If you did the math, that's well over 5,000 bales a month!) With your tax-deductible donation this holiday season we can be sure that our hay will come!
We are a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization open to the public daily by appointment (so you can even visit the horses you have helped!). A Living History Museum of racing, Old Friends is home to such luminaries of the sport as Kentucky Derby winners Silver Charm and War Emblem and Breeders’ Cup Champion Alphabet Soup. We are also home to numerous Grade 1 winners as well as many who never saw the inside of a winner's circle. Please consider a donation today and thank you for your support.
