In May 2015, Olanna Pullen, a member of the Beta Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, was diagnosed with a blood clot.  This came after months of discomfort, numerous doctors' appointments, and missed diagnoses.  Ultimately being diagnosed with a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in her arm has changed the course of Olanna's life.  Also, in October 2009 the sorority lost a long-time member to a pulmonary embolism (PE), or a blood clot in the lung.  Their sorority sisters invite you to assist in bringing awareness and educating others about blood clots and clotting disorders.  Education and prevention are the key, and starting with our local community is the first step.

The Beta Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated based in Bloomington, IL has the mission of educating the public, assisting youth, providing scholarships, supporting organized charities and social organizations, and promoting legislation for social and civic change. The chapter will be hosting events in February and March, bringing awareness to risk, signs & symptoms, and prevention of blood clots.

Please consider supporting these efforts by making a donation or even creating your own fundraising team by selecting 'Join' above.  Thank you in advance for your support!
