December 1st our area was tragically hit by an ice and snow storm. It blew through Sussex County wreaking havoc trees fell, branches broke 100% of Ogdensburg lost power for days. We all were left stunned and surprised by this storm. What we saw come from it in the clean up truly was neighborly kindness. We all saw so many people offering their homes for showers, warming up, hot meals and electronics charging. We saw the true heart of our town. Then came the hard pill to swallow, the devastation of lost trees. No one place was hit harder than our beloved Ogdensburg School. Every tree except for 2 needed to be cut down. The school is not just a school, it is the center of our town. A gathering place for all of the residents in town. It was tough to see it so vulnerable, so naked, so exposed. In true OBurg fashion a group got together to create a committee and a plan to revitalize the school grounds and create a special reading meditation area in honor of our dedicated educators. From Disaster we see opportunity to add to the landscape and beauty of Ogdensburg's treasured school. Sterling Hill is hosting the Go Fund Me and all donations are greatly appreciated and will be forwarded to Ogdensburg School.
