As the COVID-19 crisis continues and schools and workplaces close, people are urged to limit public interactions. This means that the nearly 700,000 people typically facing hunger in the Philadelphia region may experience even greater food insecurity — and more become food insecure — as access is cut off to school meals, seniors are unable to collect their monthly food boxes and those with compromised immune systems opt not to go out in the public.
A pillar of the community and long-time Odessa partner, Philabundance, is adapting its efforts to ensure individuals and families have access to the food they need while preventing the spread of the virus. Classified by the State of Pennsylvania as an 'essential agency,' they will remain open during the emergency.
In support of the great work done by Philabundance, we are naming them our non-profit awardee for fundraising in this fiscal year Q1 (April-June).
During the this time, Odessa Foundation will match every donation on the basis of $2 for every $1 contributed.
Thank you for helping to leverage the Foundation's efforts with your contribution!
