Arizona Foster Children
Group Home Caretakers!
Let’s Appreciate those that serve these Children!
There are over 2,000 Foster Care Children in Arizona living in 235 Group Homes being taken care of by 2 to 3 staff members per house. Every day these amazing caregivers go to work to give their all for children who have been displaced because of abuse and neglect and placed in the foster care system. These caregivers work in a foster group homes with 5 – 10 children ranging in age from newborn – 18 years old. On a daily basis they can face outbursts, verbal abuse, tantrums, and physical altercations, all due to the trauma these children have experienced. The Sunshine Cruises will allow OCJ Kids to provide additional trauma informed care training and self-care training to the staff of the local foster care group homes. During this time to relax and refresh, the group home staff will gain valuable tools to make them a more effective support for Arizona’s foster children.
OCJ Kids* , in partnership with Cruise Planners Franchisee, Robert Miksovsky, wants to provide a 4-Day/3 night “Sunshine Cruise” to appreciate these Caretakers with a “Thank You for All You Do” event.
We are committed to raising $15,000-$20,000 per Cruise (2 Cruises scheduled) for 45 persons or less each Cruise. Extra Monies will be earmarked for future Cruises or for use by OCJ Kids..
Any amount would certainly be appreciated for these Group Home Caretakers.
