Support reproductive justice and help New York Medical College students attend the 2018 Conference in Family Planning in Denver, Colorado! As medical students and reproductive healthcare advocates, we recognize the lack of reproductive health in our curriculum. One of the ways to further our knowledge and build on our passion for reproductive justice is by attending the 2018 Conference in Family Planning.
The conference provides the unique opportunity to engage in active learning from a myriad of topics ranging from reproductive healthcare policy to trans health competency. It is also an unbelievable platform to network with thousands of other students, advocates, and healthcare providers, and strategize how to tackle the numerous problems challenging access to reproductive healthcare. This year we are expecting more than ten New York Medical College medical students to attend the conference. We want to ensure that every student can attend the conference without the cost of attendance being a hindrance (see projected costs below). We are currently planning fundraisers through our school and with other local Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) chapters, but we need all the help we can get. Please help us supplement our medical education and become effective reproductive justice advocates by making a tax deductible donation to our fundraiser.
Here are our projected costs for attending the conference:
MSFC Members, Health Professional Students, and Resident Conference Registration: $150 x10 people= $1,500
Flights from NYC--> Denver Roundtrip: $300 x10 people= $3,000
Conference Hotel stay for 2 nights: $150 x10 people= $1,500
Total cost projection: $6,000
