Dear friends and family,
I am excited to announce that I will be running the 2019 New York City Marathon this coming November. As an added challenge, I have elected to raise money for charity as part of my preparation for the race. I am proud to partner with Answer the Call: New York City Police and Fire Widows and Children Benefit Fund.
My first goal is to raise $3,438 for Answer The Call (my badge number), but I'm aiming for even higher numbers!
What does this mean for you? I need YOUR HELP to get there. If you are able to give funds, please do. Every single dollar helps! If you are not able, or willing, please consider sharing my request and mission with those in your social circles: Facebook, LinkedIn, email, word of mouth, anything. Please send this message to those of you with friends or family in public safety professions who may be willing to help also.
Many of you are familiar with my commitment to honor the sacrifice of the finest and bravest among us during my time in uniform. I remain committed to rendering honor to their survivors in my civilian life. They are not forgotten! I look forward to demonstrating my gratitude and acknowledgement of their service, in support of their families, on the streets of New York this fall.
My very best to all of you. Thank you for your consideration.
The mission of the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund is to support the families of New York City Police Officers, Firefighters, Port Authority Police, and EMS Personnel who have been killed in the line of duty. When these brave men and women make the ultimate sacrifice to protect our city, we believe it is our civic duty to support the families these heroes have left behind. Our mission is to reassure these families that will never forget them or the sacrifice made by their loved ones. We currently provide annual financial assistance, host special gatherings, and offer a network of support to approximately 600 families. Our goal is to raise enough funds to enable us to increase the annual support we provide to these families.
Our first responders come running whenever we need help. It's time we do the same for them.
