This is an emergency fund created by the Torrington Collective for artists and creatives in our community that are in dire need of support.  We are identifying people that have already lost their entire source of income, and need help immediately.

All funds will go directly to artists in need in the form of micro-grants. If you or someone you know is struggling, please encourage them to apply for a grant here.

We are working under the fiscal sponsorship of the NWCT Arts Council.  They are a 501(c)3 non-profit and your donations will be tax deductible.

Questions for donors:

• Why is my donation important right now?
We have already identified many individuals in the creative industry that have lost their entire source of income.  The people most affected include artists, musicians, 1099-contractors (ie. tattoo artists), and small business owners (such as dance & yoga studios, hair salons, tattoo studios, etc.), and the self employed.

• What will happen with my donation?
All funds raised will be allocated in the form of micro grants to the individuals most in need.

Questions for creatives:

• How much are the grants for?
At this time we are offering micro-grants of $100 - $200.  This may change over time and people are eligible to apply more than once if need is substantial.

Who can apply?
You must be a resident of the 25 town service area of the NWCT Arts Council.

How will people be selected?
As of right now, we are focusing on the people in greatest need.  This likely means people that have lost their entire source of income.  Our selection committee will evaluate applications on a rolling basis.

Thank you for your support for this project.  Your donation or submission will go a long way in providing critical aid in our region.
