In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
Baby Veronica was born prematurely - in the seventh month of pregnancy, with a weight of 1700 grams.
She was immediately taken to the intensive care unit and placed on a ventilator. A week later, Veronica began to breathe on her own, her condition stabilized, but remained severe. He was diagnosed with Respiratory Distress Syndrome and a congenital infection. She also has jaundice and lays under a special lamp.
Her parents are very young, her mother is not even twenty years old. The girl's mother is an orphan, she only has a grandmother. Dad now works from morning until late at night to pay for his daughter's treatment.
Now Veronica's condition is moderate. She actively moves his arms and legs, gains weight. The doctors' predictions are that she will continue to improve.
She is in need of diapers, special nutrition, feeding tubes, syringes and medicines.
We are raising funds to help with her needs for the next 3 months. Can you help?
