The Nowzad charity was born from one act of kindness by a serving Royal Marine Commando towards a helpless old dog being used in a dog fighting ring. Today the Nowzad charity is tackling so many issues that need addressing and support; direct animal welfare action on the streets of Afghanistan, operating and managing an extremely busy small animal clinic in the heart of Kabul along with providing practical education for Afghanistan’s future veterinarians. And we can’t forget opening the first ever donkey sanctuary in Afghanistan for former working donkeys abused to the point of exhaustion. But of course we still support soldiers serving in Afghanistan who need our support with rescuing a dog or cat that has adopted them on the frontlines.
All of these areas are vital aspects of animal welfare here in Afghanistan but at the top of our priority is the fight against the spread of rabies.
Nowzad is operating a managed Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return campaign to humanely reduce the stray dog and cat population. We receive no government funding and so we desperately need your generous support to be the difference in the fight against rabies during 2019.
Help us today prevent an unwanted dog or cat being born to a short cruel disease ridden life on the streets of Kabul and STOP rabies dead.
Thank you – your amazing support means the difference and we truly appreciate it.
